Welcome to bostonstreetcars.com!

This website is the home of my documentary film,
Streetcar Tracks. I created Streetcar Tracks as a reflection upon the former extent of Boston's streetcar system, why the majority of the system has been replaced by buses and what remnants of the former system are visible around Boston today.

With this website, I build upon Streetcar Tracks by providing background on the documentary's creation and by frequently publishing articles that provide further detail about topics covered in Streetcar Tracks and topics regarding Boston's streetcar history and streetcar-influenced development that have intrigued me since I created the documentary.

I have embedded Streetcar Tracks below, you can either watch it here or at http://youtu.be/U7aom5r9NeE. Be sure to also navigate through the top pane of this website and read my articles! Enjoy!

Gil Propp, Webmaster and Producer of
Streetcar Tracks.
